not sure why your topic in the Ideas forums got closed, apparently they don't want you to move from .com

either way we're banned from .com fora for good and it's great that you had a chance to link your blog URL in the forum profile.

so back on topic, .com is *already* support HTTP redirects -- this feature just not advertised. although it's a sneaky 302 (Found), rather than a fair 301 (Permanently moved).

you might also entertain with this plugin to mantain .com permalink structure: http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=16902&replies=8

please see more details on Adam's blog: http://archgfx.net/blog/2007/geek/blogging/importing-a-wordpresscom-blog-into-an-existing-blog

[...] Each level is harder to implement that the one that precedes it. Each requires a different level of thinking, inspires a different level of fear, and carries a different set of pros and cons. And there is defintely a relationship between the 7LoC and creative style. [...]

[...] Levels 1-5 all have something in common - by and large, they deal with ‘knowns.’ Moving beyond Level 5 takes us into uncharted territory. The risks, as well as the rewards, are higher, but it’s not for the timid. Our next installment will focus on Level 6: Doing Things No One Else Is Doing. [...]

I just watched "The Winner from Defiance Ohio," on DVD... there is a scene in which she gets to go on a shopping spree... brought to you by Ritz Crackers. Well if Ritz or Chevy or Chrysler wants to pay to make movies I like, I say let'em! They should pay me for putting their names in this comment!

Or the company could just not give you the rights to display their product at all. You can try to extort all you want, but without the rights they can sue you for your, ahem, negative product placement.
